December 2025:

We are delighted that our GACR Standard Project 2026 proposal was selected for funding, placing it among the top 14% of submitted projects. Over the next three years, this support will enable us to develop new technologies for imaging biomolecules directly in their native environments.

October 2025:

Kanishka Chaudhary has joined our group as a new PhD student. Kanishka studied chemistry at IISER Berhampur. In her project, she will explore photocatalysis in cells. Welcome, Kanu!

Anna Golasowská joined us at the beginning of October for her Bachelor´s thesis. A warm welcome, Anna!

We warmly welcome our first PhD student, Tadeáš Herentin, to the group. Tadeáš completed his Master’s at Masaryk University in Brno and spent a three-month internship in the Wennemers group at ETH Zurich.

January 1st, 2025:The Markos Group has officially launched!

June 25th, 2024: Are you interested in a Bachelor’s or Master’s thesis? We are currently looking for students with a broad interest and commitment to our projects in synthetic organic chemistry and chemical biology starting in the academic year 2024/2025. Topics are available for both Master’s and Bachelor’s theses.
